Board of Directors
Steven has been a member of the Ironheads Multisport Racing Team since 2005. He was a long-time runner that got called to triathlon when he came across the NBC coverage of Ironman Hawaii and began wondering if he could do one of those. Since becoming a runner in 1998 Steven has completed 27 marathons (2:59 PR) and six Ironman triathlons (10:50 PR) as well as a dozen half-ironmans and countless half-marathons, cycling events and short-distance triathlons. He’s also ran 13 Hood-To-Coast relays and has completed RAMROD…twice. Many of Steven’s friends are triathletes as well as his very best friends who are also all members of the Ironheads. Outside of all the endurance sports stuff, Steven has been married to his wonderful wife, Karen, for nearly three decades! They have two grown daughters and recently became the doting grandparents of Jack.
After completing two half Ironmans and a number of sprint and Olympic distances, Heather was searching for a triathlon community that incorporated camaraderie and competition. In 2013 she found that when she joined Ironheads. Upon joining, Heather found a dedicated and energetic group of athletes to train, race, and socialize with. During her time as an Ironhead Heather has completed one Ironman, two half Ironmans, and a number of short course races. The support of the team was paramount during the 2014-15 seasons when a hip fracture derailed her racing plans. The 2016 season has her racing Ironman Arizona, Vineman 70.3, CDA 70.3, and other short course races. Heather also looks forward to the second annual Sunriver Burley bike trailer beer crit.
Mike has been a member of the Ironheads since 2006. With a strong passion for long-course racing & endurance sports, he has completed 17 Ironman races (10:22 PR) and multiple marathons including 6 Boston Marathon finishes. While he enjoys racing, the camaraderie and friendships he's gained while involved in sport have proved to be the most meaningful takeaways for him. The Ironheads have been an important part of this journey and he loves the sense of community, competition, and lifelong friends he's gained by being involved with the team. He couldn't do any of this without his very supportive wife Deb and, outside of training, they enjoy traveling as much as possible and taking advantage of everything the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Troy has been a member of the Ironheads since 2008, but originally began participating in triathlon in the mid-80’s due to the siren’s call of races sponsored by beer companies. In the early 2000’s, he made the jump to long course races and has since completed 6 Ironman and over 25 half Ironman races. He’ll still occasionally jump into shorter races to reduce the stress of being a corporate whipping boy and loves mentoring newbie triathletes and cyclists.
Jenn has been a member of the Ironheads since 2007. With a strong passion for long-course racing & endurance sports, she has completed 7 Ironman races, 15 Half Ironman races, multiple marathons, half marathons and shorter distance triathlons. The journey to the start line with the amazing friends gained while involved in this sport is where her real passion for endurance racing comes. The Ironheads are an important part in that journey given the sense of community, support and friendships gained from being part of this team.
Robert has been a member of Ironheads team since 2013. Robert started his Triathlon journey in 2008 competing in both the Lebanon and Canby Sprint Triathlons. Since that time Robert has competed in 2 Ironman races and 4 Half Ironman races. Finding Triathlon so late in life has been a blessing in Robert's life. His life has been transformed; Gaining new and lifelong friends, experiencing the benefit of fitness, and of course the love of the Swim, Bike, and Run! "The closest people in my life are those met through fitness and Triathlon, that tells you a lot".
